About this course

The course aims to provide knowledge and practical strategies to support the communication skills of autistic pupils and/or pupils with social communication needs in a wide variety of settings. There are 5 sessions which cover:

  • Autism and Communication
  • Sensory Development and Sensory Integration
  • Communication Differences
  • The Learning Environment
  • Encouraging Positive Interaction
  • Supporting Social Communication
  • Developing verbal reasoning and The Blank Language Scheme
  • Supporting language development
