This strand is specifically designed to provide outreach support for parents and carers of children and young people that are either diagnosed with or where parents / carers feel their child may have speech, language and communication needs (SLCN).
 

Universal Offer:

 
·        Rising to Reception sessions by several professionals  – including Speech and
Language Therapists, Clinical Psychologists and Specialist Teachers – for
parents and carers of children who are due to transition into mainstream
Reception class in September 2022
·        What to do if you are concerned about your child’s speech providing an introduction to referral pathways
·        Recognising Behaviour as Communication training by the ECASS Educational Psychologist, for parents and carers of mainstream primary children (two sessions; ages 5-7 and ages 8-11) and secondary young people
·        Independence Skills for Children with SLCN delivered by the ECASS Occupational Therapist
·        Successful Start to Secondary – Coming soon in Spring 2023
