Senior Specialist SEND Advisory Teacher: Primary

Algul is a Senior Specialist SEND Advisory Teacher with 20 years’ experience working across Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. She has extensive experience in both mainstream and specialist provisions, within and beyond London boroughs, and has worked with schools supporting high levels of Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) need.

In leadership roles, Algul has played a key part in the successful establishment of new EYFS and primary school settings. Her work has focused on collaborative practice with teachers and middle leaders to strengthen provision and secure positive outcomes for all learners. She is passionate about creating nurturing, inclusive, and communication‑rich learning environments that support every child in the classroom.

In her current role as a Senior Specialist SEND Advisory Teacher , Algul works closely with mainstream and specialist schools to support inclusive practice. This includes training whole‑school staff teams and senior leaders in evidence‑based programmes, assistive software, and practical strategies that improve access to learning. She works collaboratively with schools to support effective implementation, ensuring approaches are embedded and sustainable.

Algul also has extensive experience working in partnership with parents and carers, delivering training and guidance to support them in understanding and meeting their children’s SEND needs at home, and promoting consistent, joined‑up practice between home and school.
