Cigdem Alkan

Cigdem is the ECASS Service Lead and Senior Specialist SEND Advisory Teacher. She has 15 years post qualifying teaching and leading experience in mainstream primary school settings, leading in both Inclusion and EYFS.

As a system leader, Cigdem is passionate about using research to bring principles into practice. Her mission through early intervention is to raise attainment and progress levels of all learners. 

Cigdem has extensive experience in working with headteachers, SENCOs and senior leaders in reviewing education provision and workforce deployment. As an Independent and Local Authority Education Consultant, Cigdem has experience in supporting primary and secondary settings in audit and critical evaluation to establish strategic priorities for school improvement.

Cigdem is mummy to two young children under 5. When she isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. On the rare occasion when she is not busy being mum, Cigdem enjoys day trips to London for its wealth of culture and good food.
