All Behaviour is Communication: Secondary
0About this course
Training date coming soon.
This bitesize training session is aimed at secondary staff wishing to understand more about how the behaviours we see in school can often be interpreted to communicate an unseen or undiagnosed need, one of which may be Speech, Language and Communication difficulties. Using frameworks drawn from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Trauma Informed Approaches we will look at how certain young people present and therefore which others areas of need to investigate as we look to become reflective practitioners, aiming to target and support these underlying needs.
This training workshop aims to:
-
- Support secondary staff to recognise and support children and young people whose behaviours in school may suggest other underlying and/ or unmet needs;
- Provide secondary staff with an overview of potentially unmet needs that can be communicated through behaviours;
- Quick, simple and easily memorable strategies to support these children or young people in class.
